Hot, hot, hot!

Damn, it's been hot here lately.

"There is a 30 percent chance Britain would swelter in its hottest-ever day, with warmer weather than the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and southeast Asia, the Met Office said on Tuesday."

According to Reuters, "The temperatures being experienced at the moment are higher than those in Miami, Athens, Ibiza, Crete, Malta, Nice, Tenerife and Saigon."

Daughter: "but Mom, it's this hot in Georgia!"
Mother: "but you have air-conditioning in Georgia and we don't!"

Wow!

I just thought these are some pretty cool pictures of a rainbow and lightning all at the same time. Must be one hell of a pot of gold at the end of that particular rainbow.

Time is flying by.

Krip took last week off so that we could take my youngest out and about. On Monday, we went to Brighton Beach (on the hottest day of the year, I might add), and had a great time on the boardwalk and all.

Tuesday, we rested.

Wednesday, we took the train to London. My daughter absolutely loves the city. We went to various museums (again), took her to Harrods, and then on to Hamley's Toys. Needless to say after approximately eight hours of walking the pavements, we had very sore feet by the time we made it back to the train.

Thursday, we had another great idea of taking a picnic lunch, renting bicyles, and going out for the day. Little did we know that the course would be all hills. I found muscles that I didn't know still existed in my legs after serious riding a bike, which I haven't done in 40 some odd years.

Um, Friday we rested.

I think we might be going to a cricket game tonight down in Canterbury. While I have been to a live game, my youngest hasn't. And even though she enjoys watching it on television, it will be interesting to see how she likes it tonight. I think I'll have her bring her book.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. So far, and I am writing this very softly so that the weather gods won't read this, the weather has been wonderful. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way right through August.
