Time is flying by.
Krip took last week off so that we could take my youngest out and about. On Monday, we went to Brighton Beach (on the hottest day of the year, I might add), and had a great time on the boardwalk and all.
Tuesday, we rested.
Wednesday, we took the train to London. My daughter absolutely loves the city. We went to various museums (again), took her to Harrods, and then on to Hamley's Toys. Needless to say after approximately eight hours of walking the pavements, we had very sore feet by the time we made it back to the train.
Thursday, we had another great idea of taking a picnic lunch, renting bicyles, and going out for the day. Little did we know that the course would be all hills. I found muscles that I didn't know still existed in my legs after serious riding a bike, which I haven't done in 40 some odd years.
Um, Friday we rested.
I think we might be going to a cricket game tonight down in Canterbury. While I have been to a live game, my youngest hasn't. And even though she enjoys watching it on television, it will be interesting to see how she likes it tonight. I think I'll have her bring her book.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. So far, and I am writing this very softly so that the weather gods won't read this, the weather has been wonderful. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way right through August.

good to hear from you Alice, and likewise about little 'un having a good time thus far.
everyone - well almost - over ere is suffering from the flu. even the cats [both stray and home] are not spared either. it'll be terribly humid and hot one day and thunderstorm next, so it's not surprising that the flu makes it rounds. and then dengue fever struck at one of the housing estates.
woeful.
Alicenot - it sounds like you're having a wonderful time. I am so glad! Rest those tootsies and enjoy yourselves!
Isn't Hamley's great? I used to work close to there (Hanover Square) and would pop in every so often to get a toy for the kids. My oldest loved the section with all the magic toys.
Brighton sounds great. I never made it down there; we always went to a community pool.
Glad everyone is having a great time!
Sounds like fun!! :o)
Hi Alice,
I was referred to your blog by another blogger. I'd love you to volunteer to be a Mentor to expat women moving to your location in the UK, on our new web site, www.ExpatWomen.com. For fear of yet more Spam, I'm not keen to leave my email, but please visit our web site and if it sparks your interest, use the emails on the site to contact me. I'd really love you to be involved, as you run a great blog.
Thank you!! Andrea.
Hi all, thanks for responding. As you can tell, I am being very sporatic with my blogging. Partly, because I haven't a chance to get to write much, and partly because when I do get a chance I haven't that much to write about. Summer is like that, don't ya think?
Hey Alice. We've been missing you over here. I hope you're enjoying your summer. We're in that hot period now in the Lowcountry where if the temp dips below 90 we think it's a cold wave. I used to love summer, but down here it is just too darn hot to enjoy. I can't wait for fall.
