According to Reuters, "The temperatures being experienced at the moment are higher than those in Miami, Athens, Ibiza, Crete, Malta, Nice, Tenerife and Saigon."
Daughter: "but Mom, it's this hot in Georgia!"
Mother: "but you have air-conditioning in Georgia and we don't!"

heh, i think the weather gods have got themselves confused. it's been raining with a few thunderstorms thrown in for good measure throughout the week here. and it's supposed to be one of the hottest months now.
Enjoy it while you can. September is right around the corner.
September?! Hell, Fred, you should know that it can turn cold at anytime. Like someone told me when I got here, 'we don't have climate, we have weather.'

It's been nasty here but it's not the heat, it's the humidity! (as they say)
I don't know how I would do it without air-conditioning. Yikes. Poor you. We'll have to mail a window unit out to you or something but I think the electrical outlets are different. :-(

Air-conditioning is for wimps. We weren't designed to be chilled to the bone one minute, only to step out into a cauldron the next.
It plays hell with my hooter as well.

And Krip, this is coming from a man who works in air-conditioning all day long?!
But "Mom:" You only get the heat for a day or two! We get it for weeks on end.

Something I've noticed between Okinawa's 80 degrees and the 100+ degrees in Iraq is that it's not the heat so much as it is the humidity. Try to stay still and think cool thoughts of lemonade and shade trees.
High humidity totally SUCKS. I can't stand it. Only a month and then we'll be through all of this nastiness.
If you want air conditioning, open the windows, or blow a hole through the roof :-)
