When is a penalty not a penalty.

Strange that the only person out on the football (soccer) field that saw a penalty in action was the German referee. The same German referee that had been called on the carpet for other outlandish pronouncements. Everyone else said that there was no penalty.

Ah, well.

The Americans are going home after a 2-1 score. We'll get 'em next time.

I'm starting to think that America not making it to the next round may have been a blessing in disguise. Look at how many penalties and red or yellow cards the ref's are seeing that no one else seems to notice.

It was sad to see the Australians get beat by the Italians with a penality kick at the 93rd minute of their game. I think it was the Italians that managed to do the same with the Americans just before the end of the first half in our last game.

It was a very familiar scene.

just drop by to say hi, Alice :) tell me about dirty tricks and backhanded tactics, and that's the world cup for you - with politics written all over.

there was one particular World Cup that was marred by pathetic refereeing throughout. sorry i can't really recall when, but it's most likely one of those periods that i gave up on footy totally.
