Wrinkly skin and webbed feet.
Last night my youngest daughter had her very first swimming lesson. She took to the water like a little duckling would. After her 30 minute lesson, she wanted to remain for another hour so that she could "practice" what she learned. She went from not even wanting to get water anywhere above her shoulders to holding her breath and dunking herself underwater.
Now I realize you are probably thinking, 'what's the big deal'; however, this is the same child who can take a shower, wash her hair, and still manage to keep her face dry. She's come a very long way with just one lesson.
Now we are getting her a summer membership for the gym for the use of the pool. She wants to go swimming every single day. She says she loves it.
You. Go. Girl.
Bless.

A great start! We had a pool when the kids were young, so we taught them to stay afloat at a very early age. They loved to swim.
Now that they're teenagers, and we still have a pool, they barely use the thing. I might as well just plant a palm tree in there.
That's great. I hope you all have a lovely summer together.
little 'un is one greatly self-motivated bairn. she'll go far, the future's bright :)
fred: Don't tell my daughter where you live, she might wind up on your doorstep one day, asking to go swimming.
jennyta: Thanks, she has it all planned out for us.
b: If she continues going on the path she has chosen, maybe one day you will see a building that she has designed and created.
swimming is the first step to becomming the surfer that God intended for us all to become. after all, He invented surfboards, right? (smiles)
Ack! I know all about you surfer boys. That's all I need. (smiles)
