Doesn't feel any different.

Goodbye to Christmas and 2006. Welcome to 2007 - hmmm, makes me another year older. Great, just great.

It's quiet here now. Yesterday, we put my darling youngest on the plane for her long flight back to the states. Summer break cannot come too soon. The countdown started today.

Have I mentioned how dull and quiet this day has been? Yeah, well, it is.

Been doing nothing but cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning. All day.

[sigh]

The clean up and putting away of the decorations after Christmas is the worst. IMHO. I'll be happy to have the house back once it's done though.

The countdown is on!

Happy New Year to you and your family, Alicenot.

Eh up Alice - happy new year mate...., what bloody great weather we're having at the moment (not). Wall to wall grey with a tornado or two thrown in......

Where's the bloody Sun gone?

BTW, I was in Daresbury parish church over the holidays to have a look round. The church was featured on ITV for a service on Christmas Eve, and it reminded me just what a superb little church it is. I used to work in Warrington - and Daresbury is only a few miles away and now and again I used to nip[ in for a stroll around. So why am I talking about this church?

A young Charles Dodson was the vicar there in the early/mid 19th Century.... He then left and went to Oxford where he wrote about Alice, Wonderlands and Looking Glasses under his pen name of Lewis Carroll.

The church pays homage to Carroll, some of the little stained glass windows are reproductions of Tenniel's superb drawings.... just brilliantly done.
